Criminal Prosecution and Litigation
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Course aims to bridge the gap between the basic legal practice training provided to prosecutors (Police, SSNIT, GRA, etc.) and the high level professional legal education of defence counsel. The objective of the course is to boost the confidence of the category of officers in the relevant institutions to perform better in preparing and prosecuting criminal cases.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
To develop the legal knowledge, especially in the areas of criminal procedure and rules of evidence, and skills of police prosecutors and allied officers in especially taking of complaints, drafting of charge sheets etc.; enhance court room advocacy skills of prosecutors; update their knowledge in relevant legislation and basic rules in interpreting laws.
TARGET GROUP
Investigators and prosecutors of allied security agencies including GRA, CEPS, FDA; Immigration Service; EOCO; NACOC; National Security, MMDCES and other agencies with mandate to prosecute.
